On the island of Penang, Malaysia, there are about 1.4 million Chinese people. This past spring Global Mission pioneer Samuel Wang held a public series of meetings here. Samuel won his audience’s respect by finding creative ways to relate his nightly sermons to their Chinese heritage.

224. That’s the number of languages spoken in Los Angeles according to a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. 170. That’s the number of languages spoken in New York City, according to city records. In fact the same report claims 36 percent of New Yorkers were born outside the United States.

Dear Friend,

It’s summer, one of the busiest seasons of the year. Out in the fields, farmers are tending their crops and praying for good weather. Orchard workers check to see that the fruit is not overcrowded. In gardens, folks are trying to keep ahead of the weeds, making sure that their vegetables are getting enough water. On porches in urban areas, people are nurturing tomatoes, peppers, and herbs in pots.
